ABSTRACT
Objective: One of the most common incidental increased uptake areas with fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose ( 18 F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) is gastrointestinal tract. In this study, we retrospectively evaluated patients gastric and colonic F-FDG on PET/CT.Methods: Patients who underwent PET/CT imaging had between June 2017 2020 were evaluated. Results: Of 10,551 patients, 306 (2.9%) 195 (1.8%) PET/CT.Within 120 days after imaging, 173 (56%) (250 different area) 95 (48.7%) endoscopic evaluation in our center included study.Increased focal pattern was seen 86.4% 67.4% areas.Malignant/premalignant diseases identified 80% cases uptake, 21% areas. While maximum standardized value (SUV max ) >5.9 colon differentiates inflammatory malignant/premalignant from benign sensitivity 97% specificity, SUV >5.0 stomach lesions 75% 72% specificity. Conclusion:Focal especially associated events, however, not effective differentiating lesions.Studies are needed for values distinguish malignant lesions.
