ABSTRACT
Metaplastic breast cancer (MBC) is a rare subtype of invasive characterized by mixed epithelial and mesenchymal differentiation. Commonly seen subtypes include squamous cell carcinoma, spindle metaplastic carcinoma with heterologous MBC tends to have more aggressive clinical presentation, higher metastatic potential, rates local recurrence, worse prognosis compared no special type. Most MBCs are triple-negative cancers, which explains their resistance most systemic therapies. Therefore, accurately diagnosing early crucial for deciding the treatment strategy predicting prognosis. In this pictorial essay, imaging findings in different modalities histopathologic features its reviewed.
