ABSTRACT
Resident dissatisfaction in ambulatory care training has prompted the need for new scheduling models that support a positive learning climate.We instituted 3∶1 model postgraduate year (PGY)-2 and PGY-3 residents. We hypothesized this would provide more structured educational atmosphere, better continuity of care, exposure to subspecialty outpatient medicine. This also eliminate conflict with inpatient duties contribute enhance residents' satisfaction medicine their education experience. The used weeklong blocks every fourth week, consisting morning clinic afternoon clinics. PGY-1 residents maintained traditional schedule.Residents were surveyed regarding experience, an overall response rate 73 80 (91%). PGY-2 responses analyzed descriptively compared responses.
