OPTIMAL PLACEMENT FACTS DEVICE TO INCREASE VOLTAGE STABILITY MARGIN USING DIRECT SEARCH ALGORITHM

ABSTRACT
For a flexible power system, FACTS systems that are based on controllable electronic have been developed. In this paper relevant facts device which is used for voltage stability improvement, allocation problem has studied. The target FACTs in study SVC. Line index should be lower than 1 as Stability Index (SI). Also n-2 contingency criteria met, hence location of SVC with SI under normal and modeled. To solve problem, direct search algorithm way all possible tested at contingencies best place found. Numerical studies done IEEE-30bus test system mathpower results show the simultaneous placement by both objectives leads to low investment better objective function.
