ABSTRACT
Purpose: To develop a method to identify and quantify the compounds in shoots of four Phyllostachys bamboo species (Gramineae prominens W. Y. Xiong, Gramineae iridescins C. Yao pubescens (Carr.) Mitford, praecox D. Chu et S. Chao. ).Methods: The were isolated identified by ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy, mass spectrometry (MS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Quantitative analysis was performed reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) using C18 column mixture (1:1ratio) acetonitrile 15 mM ammonium acetate (pH 6.0) as mobile phase. This validated for its reproducibility, chemical stability, recovery. Results: Six nucleosides two amino acids from shoots, including guanosine, 2'-deoxyguanosine, adenosine, thymidine, uridine, cytidine, tryptophan, phenylalanine. HPLC rapid reproducible. intraday interday concentrations eight showed good linearity range 0.22 - 60.00 μg/mL. relative standard deviation (RSD) precision reproducibility stability < 3 %. successfully applied determine content different species. Conclusion: Adenosine previously, but isolation other seven are reported here first time. proposed is sensitive reproducible, would facilitate studies nutritional/medicinal shoot. Keywords: Bamboo prominens, Guanosine, 2' Deoxyguanosine, Adenosine, Thymidine, Uridine, Cytidine, Tryptophan, Phenylalanine
