ABSTRACT
The cutaneous nocardiosis is a suppurative to pyogranulomatous condition that occurs after penetration of the agent on wounds in skin were exposed contaminated water or soil.The disease manifested with formation localized abscess, necrotic fistula and ulcers draining serosanguineous secretion, reaching limbs abdomen.It rare cats, these, most are due infection by Nocardia asteroides.This report aimed describe clinical laboratory diagnosis domestic feline microbiological asteroides, describing recommended treatment based antibiogram.A spayed female cat, mongrel, five years age, developed lesions form fistulous tracts piosanguinolenta secretion frontal region face, forelimb abscess hind limb, loss appetite, weight apathy.It had previously been treated empirically for bacterial infections enrofloxacin, followed cephalexin identification Staphylococcus spp.Held collection exudate culture antibiogram.It was diagnosed identified as asteroides microrganisms sensitive only amikacin, kanamycin neomycin.Treatment amikacin (10 mg / kg every 12 hours) introduced, seven days being administered once 24 hours cilindruria detected urinalysis.The remission signs occurred 20 continuous use antibiotics, which maintained three weeks without further complications resolution cilindruria.
