ABSTRACT
This paper aims with the preparation of Sr2+ and Zn2+ double substituted carbonated hydroxyapatite (Sr-Zn-CHAp) by nanoemulsion method to evaluate its consolidation capacity on artificial stone samples. The changes in CHAp lattice parameters were observed a synergy between shrinkage dilatation induced two metallic ions, different ionic radii comparison calcium. changed morphology obtained calcination was evidenced SEM analysis. Also, tendency agglomerate as micron- sub-micron-sized particles spherical irregular form observed. FTIR, XRD EDS results confirmed that successfully replacing Ca2+ resulting AB-type CHAp. efficacity Sr-Zn-CHAp inorganic consolidant for tested mechanical strength, resistance at freeze–thaw aging test, thermal shock weathering, colorimetric sample, all being correlated water absorption repellency, pore structure changes. By treating 0.5 g/L led an improvement above-mentioned characteristics, without significant chromatic
