The Mediating Effect of Work-Life Balance Organizational Culture in the Relationship Between Work-Life Balance Support and Organizational Performance in Companies in Jeju: Focusing on Multi-Group Model Analysis

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to analyze the mediating effect of Work-Life Balance(WLB) organizational culture in the relationship between WLB support and organizational performance in companies in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and to provide theoretical, practical, and policy implications to contribute to the development of WLB policies for companies in Jeju. The data used in this study were obtained from the original data of the “Survey on the Status of Work-Life Balance and Policy Demands of Companies in Jeju” conducted by the Jeju Women and Family Research Institute. Hypotheses were tested using a multiple-group model analysis. The analysis results are as follows: First, the multiple analysis of the impact of WLB support on organizational performance showed that Hypothesis 1-1(HR managers and representatives combined) and Hypothesis 1-2(HR managers) had a positive impact, whereas Hypothesis 1-3 (representatives) was not statistically significant. Second, WLB support was found to have a positive effect on WLB organizational culture. Third, WLB organizational culture was shown to positively affect organizational performance. Fourth, WLB organizational culture played a mediating role in the relationship between WLB support and organizational performance. The implications of this study are as follows: First, it contributes to theoretical expansion by structurally proving the impact of WLB support on WLB organizational culture and organizational performance in companies in Jeju. Second, it highlights the need for the establishment of various policies and systems to support WLB initiatives. Finally, directions for future research are discussed.
