ABSTRACT
The use of synthetic carotenoids in fish feed to potentiate the colouration, along with some health benefits has become exorbitant mitigate demand for lucrative ornamental within budget. Switching source pigmentation and colouration from natural sources is all time preferable choice biological system as well farmers. Petal dust Asian pigeonwings (Clitoria ternatea) was incorporated basal diet retain colour rosy barb (Pethia conchonius) captive conditions. Varied concentrations petal dust(0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and2 g 100 g-1 feed) were added feed, fed twice a day at 4% body weight. Water quality parameters proximate analysis growth measured carotenoid concentration tissue spectrophotometrically. At completion 60 day’s experiment spectacular increase growth, survival, (1.88 2.42 µg g-1) observed. best survival obtained D4 (0.5%) 5% level significance. In proper conditions, it recommended include 0.5% Pigeonwings prepared better retention barb.
