ABSTRACT
We study two counter--propagating electromagnetic waves in the vacuum within framework of Born--Infeld theory quantum electrodynamics. By choosing crossed field case ${\bf E}\cdot{\bf B}=0$, i.e. $\mathfrak{G}^2=0$, Lagrangian reduces to Born Lagrangian, therefore for this special we present which is identical and In paper, show that non--linear equations decouple ordinary wave using self-similar solutions investigate shock steepening. only are exceptional traveling propagate with constant speed do not turn into shocks. discuss phase shift cross section process be measured together our proposed direct detection photon--photon scattering \cite{KadlecovaKornBulanov2019,KadlecovaMine2019}. This work serves as a preliminary towards analyzing more general theory.
