ABSTRACT
The advent of X-ray free-electron lasers (XFELs) has revolutionized fundamental science, from atomic to condensed matter physics, chemistry biology, giving researchers access X-rays with unprecedented brightness, coherence, and pulse duration. All XFEL facilities built until recently provided pulses at a relatively low repetition rate, limited data statistics. Here, we present the results first megahertz rate scattering experiments Spectroscopy Coherent Scattering (SCS) instrument European XFEL. We illustrate experimental capabilities that SCS offers, resulting operation MHz rates availability novel DSSC 2D imaging detector. Time-resolved magnetic holographic in solid state samples were chosen as representative, providing an ideal test-bed for rates. Our are relevant applicable any other non-destructive soft range.
