ABSTRACT
Notable non-Fermi liquid and quantum critical behaviors are observed in rare-earth metallic systems with non-Kramers local moments supporting a number of different multipolar moments. A prominent example is $\text{Pr(Ti,V)}_{2}\text{Al}_{20}$, where the doublet $\text{Pr}^{3+}$ ion allows quadrupolar octupolar moments, but lacks dipolar moment. Previous theoretical studies show that single impurity Kondo problem such an unusual moment leads to novel states. In this work, we investigate possible arising from competition between states multipolar-ordered phases induced by RKKY interaction. We consider version corresponding lattice model, namely Bose-Fermi model. Here, coupled fermionic bosonic bath degrees freedom representing effect interactions. Using perturbative renormalization group (RG) study up two loop order, find points fixed ordered point. The describe at phase transitions can be distinguished higher order corrections susceptibility measured ultrasound experiments. Our results imply existence rich expansion heavy fermion systems.
