Constraints between entropy production and its fluctuations in nonthermal engines

ABSTRACT
We analyze a mesoscopic conductor autonomously performing thermodynamically useful task, such as cooling or producing electrical power, in part of the system -- working substance by exploiting another terminal set terminals resource that contains stationary nonthermal (nonequilibrium) distribution. Thanks to properties resource, on average no exchange particles energy with is required fulfill task. This resembles action demon, long only quantities are considered. Here, we go beyond description based currents and investigate role fluctuations system. show minimum level entropy necessary, whenever one certain production perform task substance. For concrete implementations demonic engine three- four-terminal electronic conductors quantum Hall regime, compare output (produced power power).
