ABSTRACT
Sui Lutris is the first smart-contract platform to sustainably achieve sub-second finality. It achieves this significant decrease in latency by employing consensusless agreement not only for simple payments but a large variety of transactions. Unlike prior work, neither compromises expressiveness nor throughput and can run perpetually without restarts. safely integrating consensuless with high-throughput consensus protocol that invoked out critical finality path makes sure when transaction at risk inconsistent concurrent accesses its settlement delayed until total ordering resolved. Building such hybrid architecture especially delicate during reconfiguration events, where system needs preserve safety compromising long-term liveness potentially misconfigured clients. We thus develop novel protocol, show safe efficient blockchain. currently running production as part major platform. Combined Move Programming language it enables execution smart contracts expose objects first-class resource. In our experiments lower than 0.5 seconds up 5,000 certificates per second (150k ops/s bundling), compared state-of-the-art real-world latencies 3 seconds. Furthermore, gracefully handles validators crash-recovery does suffer visible performance degradation reconfiguration.
