Creativity, Generative AI, and Software Development: A Research Agenda

Creativity has always been considered a major differentiator to separate the good from great, and we believe importance of creativity for software development will only increase as GenAI becomes embedded in developer tool-chains working practices. This paper uses McLuhan tetrad alongside scenarios how may disrupt more broadly, identify potential impacts have on within development. The are discussed along with future research agenda comprising six connected themes that consider individual capabilities, team product, unintended consequences, society, human aspects can be affected.
