ABSTRACT
The coastal area of Myrtos beach, is a very popular Natura protected at the Northern part Cephalonia Island, in W. Greece, which suffered severe damages during Medicane named after “Ianos”, that affected Greek territory September 2020. Most steep slope area, hosts road leads to beach itself were extensively covered by debris due mudflows, interrupting aggressively connection with inland network. use Unmanned Aerial Systems proved be an ideal way mapping quite small areas, limited access networks. generation ultra-high resolution spatial products seems optimal for and quantifying mass movements cover areas ranging from less than one square kilometer up few kilometers. aim such multi-temporal study, described herein, contains aerial image data collection analysis, before catastrophic event. It leading quantification surface topographic changes, generating time series point clouds, creating several terrain models along ortho-photo-mosaics, based on Structure-from-Motion photogrammetric techniques. digital comparison co-registered showed significant alterations have taken place 2020 Medicane. diachronic clouds led detection elevation mainly central interest, whereas values found rather altered, either positively (deposition) or negatively (erosion), delineating changes.
