ABSTRACT
To inhibit calcium carbonate and sulfate scales in cooling water systems, a new antiscalant (acrylic acid-oxalic acid-methallyl methoxy polyethylene glycol, [AA-HPEZ]) was synthesized via radical copolymerization, the structure of inhibitors characterized by Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy, hydrogen Nuclear magnetic resonance, carbon thirteen resonance. The ability polymer to mitigate formation tested static scale inhibition methods. The efficiencies AA-HPEZ toward CaCO 3 CaSO 4 were 90.6% 100%, with 8 mg/L, respectively. The performance copolymer on precipitation better than poly(acrylic acid), poly(epoxysuccinic hydrolytic poly(maleic anhydride).AA-HPEZ shows great antiscaling properties for even solution higher temperature hardness.
