ABSTRACT
UVA1 phototherapy has recently demonstrated high levels of efficacy and tolerability for treating a variety inflammatory neoplastic skin diseases. The purpose the present study was to assess clinical (340~400 nm) pityriasis rosea course disease after treatment.Fifteen patients with extensive were treated low-dose (starting at 10~20 J/cm(2) then it increased 30 J/cm(2)). The treatments given 2~3 times week until complete clearance lesions achieved or there partial improvement without further amelioration, in spite 5 additional treatments. rate clearing monitored by estimating severity (PRSS) score pruritus score. The extent all 15 lessened during (30.1+/-3.6 vs. 2.0+/-1.6, respectively, p<0.05). overall reduction PRSS showed significant second third treatment. 12 treatment period, unchanged remaining 3 patients. mean previous duration 11.2+/-4.9 days this did not interfere successful outcome phototherapy. This shows that is useful, well-tolerated option suffering from eruptions considerable pruritus.
