The direction of reform for enhancing primary care

Many studies have reported extensive evidence of the advantages primary care in terms cost, health outcomes, and quality care. However, South Korea has continuously shrunk for several decades. In order to enhance Korean system, emphasis should be placed on rebuilding a delivery system promoting essential role physician community clinics. The Community-based Primary Care Project is based new models encouraging doctor-patient relationships management chronic disease functioning as hub coordination among health-related resources. This an early step value-based payment system. Because physicians' motivation high degree satisfaction patients this project, reform conceptual framework project desirable future will focus physicians well-trained highly qualified navigator rather than gatekeeper.
