Ocular diseases among pathologists and pathologists' perceptions on ocular diseases: a survey study

ABSTRACT
The impact of visual disorders and color vision deficiency on the occupational life has been previously investigated by several studies. In this study, we aimed to evaluate prevalence among Turkish pathologists their perceptions disorders.A survey composed 14 questions about ocular diseases these introduced volunteering or pathology residents, participating in 23rd Congress Pathology.Ninety-three residents participated survey. Of participants, 25 (26.9%) were 30 (32.3%) specialists, 36 (38.7%) academicians. mean duration for working as a pathologist was 15 years. vast majority (%93.5) participants had at least one type refractive error; two most common myopia (77.0%) astigmatism (64.4%). Sixty-four (68.8%) claimed an increase error after department. Eyeglasses (56/87, 64.4%), contact lenses (14/87, 16.1%), both (9/87, 10.3%) used order correct however, only 31 (33.3%) preferred using eyeglasses during microscopy. While 65 (69.9%) never conjunctivitis, 26 (28.0%) conjunctivitis attack. None be blind.Conjunctivitis errors are quite prevalent pathologists. Refractive also found practice. Most do not consider (mostly errors) negative factor career decision making, except defect.
