Central Post-Stroke Pain in Stroke Patients: Incidence and the Effect on Quality of Life

ABSTRACT
Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate the incidence central post-stroke pain in stroke patients and effect on quality life.Material Methods: One hundred (47 women, 53 men), admiting inpatient rehabilitation clinic or outpatient followup were included cross-sectional study.Patients with aphasia, intermediate advanced levels cognitive disorder, subarachnoid hemorrhage, arteriovenous malformation, tumor, traumatic brain injury multiple sclerosis causing hemiplegia, having neuropathic complex regional syndrome history excluded.central evaluated Leeds assessent symptoms signs scale (LANSS), life assessed Nottingham Health Profile. Results:The mean age 60.27±11.59years, duration 14.65 months (range 2-124).Hemiplegia right side 35 cases, left 65 cases.77 had ischemic, 23 hemorrhagic etiology.Twelve thalamic pain.Central related a significant difference parameter Profile (NHP)(p=0.001). Conclusion:The is complication that should not be ignored because it rare has negative impact stroke.
