ABSTRACT
Objective: To study the effects of an acute lifestyle change in human semen oxidative stress (OS) by applying seminal parameters and OS markers to feasibility mid-infrared spectroscopy with Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) as a complementary tool evaluate on sperm samples.Material methods: Sperm samples were collected from healthy male students (n=8) who voluntarily submitted themselves changes during academic festivities. The obtained before after festivities compared basic analyses markers, namely thiobarbituric acid reactive species (TBARS) total thiol (SH) groups spectrophotometric assays carbonyl (CO) slot blot. The also for spectroscopic analysis FT-IR coupled multivariate calibrate biomarkers.Statistical was performed paired Wilcoxon tests. Results: Acute alterations week associated significant decrease percentage normal spermatozoa ejaculate (p=0.011) concentration volume.Regarding OS, promoted increment TBARS (p=0.018) increasing trend SH group. With analysis, it possible develop calibration models following protein biomarkers: CO.Conclusions: have negative quality, both conventional markers. The evaluation biomarkers could improve andrology diagnosis therapeutic follow-up.
