Background. Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) pose a major challenge to healthcare systems worldwide, signifi cantly affecting the social and cognitive development of children. In Romania, despite reported lower prevalence compared other European countries, it is essential better understand factors associated with these in order improve diagnostic intervention strategies.
