ABSTRACT
AbstractThe aim of the study was to develop and test psychometric properties an instrument which measures clinical teaching competencies nursing preceptors. It is necessary investigate what kinds are required in modern, more student-centered higher education contexts. Nurses need possess competence perform role preceptor properly. However, empirical studies exploring rare. Psychometric testing conducted on a sample 389 preceptors from three hospitals 2010. Exploratory factor analysis reliability were 53-item Clinical Teaching Competencies Scale. Results indicated that principal axis factoring extraction identified four factors through promax rotation: Student evaluation, goal setting individual teaching, strategies, demonstration organized knowledge. The Cronbach's α values for ranged 0.82–0.87.
