ABSTRACT
<p>Continuous measurements are essential to assess the interannual variability of thermohaline circulation, water masses properties and transports, biochemical contents. The need for high-frequency sampling resolve events rapid processes (on different time scale) long-sustained multiple interrelated variables from sea surface seafloor is provided by Southern Adriatic Node. It formed observatory E2M3A located in area Pit (Eastern Mediterranean) at 41°32'N, 18°04'E together with a system moorings positioned along Bari Canyon (mooring BB lat. 41°20.49’N long. 17°11.64’E 605 m depth; mooring FF lat 41°48.35’N long 17°02.29’E 751 depth) open-slope. generally assumed play an important role dense sinking sediment transfer deep basin.</p><p>The waters North origin flow southwards, mostly intermittently, shelf sink into basin, both open slope and, more markedly, through canyon Bari. Thus, basin due its morphology, considered as reservoir that collects these those in-situ formation (DWF) processes, exiting ADW feeds circulation Eastern Mediterranean.</p><p>Signals transport pit layer evident, particular environmental conditions winter 2012, physical biogeochemical data measured simultaneously high frequency various components (E2M3A moorings). From BB’s after this event until 2018 do not show us very significant but episodes lower intensity clearly identified series.</p><p>The intrusion (cascading) evidenced E2M3A, occurred late march 2014, January 2015 2016 remarked salinity homogenization 900 -1000 depth. This has most likely contributed enhance lithogenic material fluxes bottom trap.  However, been detected might have sunk across open-slope.</p><div> <div> <div> </div> <div>What you want ?</div> New mail</div> </div><div> </div><div><img></div>
