The objective of this study was to identify factors that may explain the development cattle raising in Central Brazil, starting from middles decade 1970, concomitant with expansion agricultural frontiers. Through an innovative theoretical model, it is possible fundamental variables process: location, topography and fertility. Data analyses allowed verifying ;location; variable best explains Goias State. KEY-WORDS: Agricultural frontier; modernization; technological change.
