ABSTRACT
The expansion of schistosomiasis to the coast Pernambuco has been registered since 1992 withthe detection acute cases disease in individuals middle/upper class. To diagnose thisnew scenario transmission tourist areas on waterfront state,knowledge georeferenced species distribution vector snails through maps that show theirexact location seems essential, as it is necessary localize situations with biohazard and unhealthyenvironmental conditions. From 15 18 September 2008 10 13 2013, expeditionswere conducted by groups epidemiologists parasitologists for 11 coastal municipalities ofthe state, checking all collections fresh water up 2 km away from seaside. Data weregeoreferenced a later conduction spatial analysis. For positive identification Biomphalariaglabrata, technique light exposure was used. Specimens B. straminea remainednegative until 15th day underwent molecular diagnosis (PCR-single tube). Inthe expedition, 3,392 glabrata 725 were captured, whoseinfection rates ranged 0.9% 22.2%. In 2013 948 504 B.straminea collected only Porto de Galinhas city foundreleasing S. mansoni cercariae, an infectivity rate 81.4%, confirming this locality therisk still present.
