ABSTRACT
Purpose: To describe the clinical characteristics of celiac disease (CD) among Saudi children and to determine adherence rate gluten free diet (GFD) its determinant factors them.Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted, in which all families registered Celiac Patients Support Group were sent an online survey.Only with 18 years age younger biopsy-confirmed CD included. Results:The median 113 included 9.9 years, at symptom onset 5.5 diagnosis 7 time between presentation final 1 year.Sixty two involved females.Ninety percent patients symptomatic while eight asymptomatic.The commonest presenting symptoms included: chronic abdominal pain (59.3%), poor weight gain (54%), distention, gases, bloating (46.1%) diarrhea (41.6%).Sixty reported be strictly adherent GFD.Younger shorter duration since associated a better rate.Conclusion: has similar presentations compared other parts ward; however, GFD is relatively poor.Younger rate.
