ABSTRACT
Benzalkonium chloride (BAC) is a caustic agent which used in farms, homes and hospitals for cleaning skin wounds as an antiseptic solution. It may lead to digestive system injuries case of ingestion. We present two-days-old newborn was carried the emergency unit with complaints poor breastfeeding, uneasiness crying 4-6 hours. Her mom confessed that she had given spoon 10% BAC solution her cough. Initial laboratory tests were normal ranges. A gastroscopy performed second hour admission revealed hyperemic edematous mucosa middle third esophagus circumferential ulceration followed distal portion. Hereupon, conservative treatment 10 days administered control demonstrated damage almost totally improved. She youngest this etiology successfully treated approach.
