ABSTRACT
Purpose: Gastrostomy is commonly used procedures to provide enteral nutrition support for severely handicapped patients.This study aimed identify and compare outcomes complications associated with percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) surgical (SG).Methods: A retrospective chart review of 51 patients who received in a single tertiary hospital from January 2000 May 2016 was performed.We analyzed the caused by procedures.Results: Among patients, 26 had PEG 25 SG.Four cases SG group fundoplication gastroesophageal reflux disease.PEG groups were followed up an average 29 months 44 months.Major occurred 19.2% 20.0% group, but significant differences between not observed.Minor 15.4% 52.0% group.Minor significantly lower than (p=0.006).The use antibiotics 6.2 days 15.7 (p=0.002).Thirteen died underlying disease related gastrostomy, only one patient due general anesthesia. Conclusion:The duration incidence minor those group.Early could be recommended nutritional supports.
