ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to describe hematopoietic and reproductive hazards Korean electronic workers exposed solvents containing 2-bromopropane.Detailed medical occupational histories were taken thorough physical examinations with clinical laboratory tests done for 33 (8 men 25 women). Previous present exposure investigated in detail by industrial hygienists.Of the female workers, 16 shown have secondary amenorrhea high follicle-stimulating hormone levels, normal prolactin hot flashes. A total eight concurrently showed findings pancytopenia. Among male two azoospermia another four some degree oligospermia (normal > 20 million. ml-1) or reduced sperm motility 50%). bone marrow effects testis ovarian failure be main health workplace. Except cleaning solution 97.4% 2-bromopropane, no other known chemical agents could identified as responsible gonadal effects, including ionizing radiation, lead, ethylene glycol ether its acetates, benzene, dibromochloropropane. No previous studies reported human toxicity but results lead tentative conclusion that causal agent among might 2-bromopropane.
