ABSTRACT
A large European multicentric cohort study has been coordinated by the International Agency for Research on Cancer with objectives of investigating dose-response relationship between liver cancer and exposure to vinyl chloride assessing risk sites other than liver. nearly threefold increase in was detected basis 24 observed deaths 8.4 expected (standardized mortality ratio 286, 95% confidence interval 186-425). The excess from clearly related time since first exposure, duration employment, estimated ranked quantitative exposures. Other investigated a priori hypotheses were either not (lung) or apparently unrelated variables (brain lymphoma).
