[Anorectal melanoma: Clinical case].

ABSTRACT
Anorectal melanoma (AM) is a rare and aggressive type of tumor, with varied inconclusive scientific information. Its preoperative diagnosis challenging due to its rarity similarity other anorectal conditions. It represents only 1.3% melanomas affects more women than men. Approximately 20-30% AM cases are amelanotic, complicating endoscopic detection leading misdiagnoses. often confused hemorrhoids, polyps, rectal cancer in two thirds patients similar symptoms. The causes risk factors not well understood, but they suspected differ from cutaneous ocular melanomas. Diagnosis performed through biopsy immunohistochemical staining. Colonoscopy helps characterize the lesions, histological examination crucial for definitive diagnosis.
