ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT
Introduction
Low socioeconomic status has been related to increased stroke incidence and bad functional outcome. Educational level less studied as a risk factor. We aim determine if lower educational or are independent factors for worse prognosis in patients Mexico.
Methods
We included with first ischemic hemorrhagic who had at least 3 years of follow-up. Demographic, clinical socio-cultural (income/highest education level) variables were registered. Bivariate analysis was performed the impact these on outcome, mortality, recurrence. The resultant sariables logistic regression model.
Results
We 544 (45% ischemic, 55% hemorrhagic). Factors independently poor outcome level, HTM, DM, AF, neurological deterioration admission (GCS). Income not predictor recurrence mortality.
Conclusion
Lower an factor after our population. Higher incidence, aggressive treatments deficient follow-up rehabilitation may be main causes this observation. Further studies will which relevant modifiable when treating levels.
