This dataset contains the models and data used in the article "To what extent does river routing matter in hydrological modeling?". In this work, we configured the Variable Infiltration Capacity (VIC) macroscale hydrologic model in conjunction with the mizuRoute routing model to examine the impacts of different decisions on hydrologic model performance. The dataset contains the versions used for the hydrological and routing models used, in conjunction with the meteorological forcings and ancillary data for the Cautin river at Cajón River basin.
