ABSTRACT
This study investigates the motivational characteristics of Korean university students majoring in Arabic and develops intervention strategies based on findings. To achieve this goal, a survey was conducted using Dörnyei's (2005, 2009) “L2 Motivational Self System” with additional variables reflecting socio-cultural context Korea. The participants were 178 or Arab studies at 5 domestic universities. Subsequent analysis responses revealed that augmenting learners' satisfaction their learning experiences improving attitudes significantly contributed to intensifying efforts. facilitate these improvements, indicates need for foster positive towards Arabs culture within language classrooms, while also capitalizing 'competition' factor. Finally, Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) model selected exemplified as potential strategy aligns research
