ABSTRACT
Birds inside or outside the airport is big threat to aircraft. The main objective of this study was toidentify hazards bird species, population density and richness birds around BACHA KHANINTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. methods being used were point count/vantage method for thepopulation estimation. Study based upon two sites (Site A Airport Premises) spreading over anarea 30 acres B which within Airport) an area 7.5 Acres. Total Samplingpoints (Observation Points) 120 every sampling visited 15-20 minutes birdswere counted three five in a fixed radius. Transact line 500 meterswas analyze data. observed 100 meters. Primary Secondary data wascollected using questionnaire. identified reasons Bird Air strikes at exploredpossible mitigation measures avian Peshawar premises. This will be useful forthe aviation authorities preparing managed control program. In hypothesis given incomparison with other attractants tree attracts more Airport. Averages specieswere Site 15 monthly respectively. highest Relative Abundance atSite House Crow species 16.8463612% Kite relative abundance21.4953271%. Highest number strike occurred Runway followed by fencewith reference report 2021-22. Pigeon Doves Flight airportpremises. 36 Birdâs diversity rainfall cloud cover assessed through Shannondiversity index as 3.024 indicate good might potentialthreat aircraft? revealed that effective management plan should also taken intoconsideration.
