ABSTRACT
This study uses 115 years’ gridded rainfall data from 121 gauge stations to observe long-term changes in annual and seasonal the entire West Bengal, India. The significance amplitude of these overall trends are assessed with use such for period 1901 2015 collected India Meteorological Department, by applying innovative trend analysis. According findings study, area decreases significantly during winter season pre-monsoon season, while increases monsoon post-monsoon season. experiences largest increase at 4.68 mm/year smallest decrease 2.95 mm/year. rainfalls found be statistically significant 5% level except a few districts pre-monsoon, monsoon, rainfalls. work aims provide scientific support recognize strategically mitigate impact climatic on water management Bengal thereby reduce risk climate change.
