ABSTRACT
Background/Aim: Chronification of migraine is a serious health problem with difficulties in management and related to increased disability. Inflammation suggested have role its chronification. We aimed determine whether systemic inflammatory response tested by serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels obesity were attack frequency. Methods: A total 40 female participants (20 chronic migraine, 10 episodic healthy controls without headache) included the study. None patients on prophylaxis. Episodic evaluated interictally 72 hour headache free period before after blood collection. Migraine frequency, body mass index (BMI) age recorded. Serum IL-6 measured ELISA method. Results: significantly elevated compared controls. BMI was higher subjects even though it did not reach statistical significance. positively correlated Conclusion: Elevated circulating an increase seem be risk factors for women. Strategies reduce inflammation must integrated treatment migraine. Identification modifiable chronification crucial sustainable
