ABSTRACT
Hibiscus sabdariffa L. is a plant native to tropical Africa and intensively cultivated in Sudan. Its calyces are widely consumed with many uses Sudanese folk medicine.The dried of H. were subjected soak 80% v/v methanol get the methanolic extract, which was tested against five Gram-negative three Gram-positive referenced bacterial strains using disc diffusion method. Selected bioactive phytochemical compounds also investigated qualitative methods.The results antibacterial test indicate that extract contained effective agent(s), revealed considerable zone inhibition all bacteria, it competitor gentamicin greatly higher than penicillin showed weak or no effect.The current investigation support medicine application this different microbial ailments suggest as promising source for new agents.
