ABSTRACT
The main aims of the study were to evaluate phytochemical constituents and antioxidant, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic activities extracts from stem wood Pterocarpus marsupium.Ethanol, acetone isopropyl alcohol (IPA) (1:1) P. marsupium subjected screening analysis biological August 2015 January 2016. antioxidant assay was carried out using 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl scavenging method, antimicrobial activity testing by cup diffusion antidiabetic test evaluation oral glucose tolerance in mice, anti-inflammatory effect evaluated hind paw edema method mice a chemical writhing mice. The results revealed that is source various phytoconstituents such as alkaloids, glycosides, saponins, tannins, proteins, carbohydrates, cardiac flavonoids, terpenoids. Both IPA extract well ethanol exhibited dose-dependent activity. Acetone showed antibacterial against Gram-positive bacteria, while ethanolic found possess be time dose-dependent. Similarly, have activity, which also Furthermore, nontoxic. Thus, this laid sufficient background for further research on identification, subsequent purification isolation compounds having antibacterial, activities.
