<b>Effects of probiotic supplementation on clinicopathological alterations in Barki sheep with mange</b>

Background: Ovine mange is a highly transmissible skin condition that typically results in significant economic losses. Aim: This research explored the clinicopathological alterations associated with Barki sheep and evaluated impact of integrating probiotics (ZAD) into treatment protocol. Additionally, study proposed diagnostic markers indicators for assessing prognosis. Method: Twenty healthy lambs (control group (CG)) twenty suffered from symptoms (confirmed by scrapings) diseased (DG). DG was divided two groups: traditional (TG) injected once 1ml/50 kg ivermectin 1% (Promectine, Invesa) subcutaneously + topical Zinc ointment, ZAD Group (ZG): received same 5 ml/ head orally, repeated daily 3 weeks. Skin scraping weekly until complete curing both groups. Blood samples were collected CG, (before treatment), TG ZG (after recovery). Results: (compared to CG) showed (P&lt;0.05) innate immune response hypercortisolemia hypoinsulinemia, microcytic hypochromic anemia leukocytosis lymphocytopenia, hypoglycemia, hypoalbuminemia, hyperglobulinemia, hyperlipidemia, elevated liver kidney function tests, decreased minerals electrolytes, hypozincemia. After treatment, clinical lesions completely recovered, most estimated parameters reobtain their physiological ranges on 21st day. did not significantly recovery or regression lesions, but it markedly improved animals` body weights serum glucose CG TG). Total antioxidant capacity (TAC), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), ferritin had highest likelihood ratios among markers. Conclusion: scabies can lead systemic changes, necessitating careful monitoring intervention. Adding mangy might help enhance levels, does affect healing reduction lesions. TAC IL-1β serve as dependable diagnosing ovine scabies, whereas are valuable evaluating effectiveness.
