ABSTRACT
Community coalitions have been leading the multi-sector response to opioid epidemic in U.S. However, with medicalization of use disorder and changing healthcare policies, hospitals moved forefront, they become more active collaborating community coalitions. Little is currently known about how view approach engaging despite its importance for understanding advancing inter-organizational approaches combating epidemic. Using qualitative data collected from semi-structured interviews (n=122) conducted November 2019 January 2020 as part HEALing Communities Study (HCS), we examine coalition members perceive hospital collaborations explore opportunities challenges these partnerships. We characterized three emergent themes around collaborations: coalitions’ hospitals; barriers collaboration; sustainable relationships.
