ABSTRACT
Objective: To evaluate the effect of mean platelet volume (MPV), on short-term prognosis and bleeding complications acute ischemic stroke patients who underwent intravenous tissue plasminogen activator (IV-tPA) treatment. Patients Methods: Between 01.01.2018 01.06.2021, 314 applied to our clinic with neurological deficit were included in study retrospectively. Alteplase was administered as IV-tPA treatment for 1 hour. MPV value measured before evaluated main parameter. The examined under 4 groups (≤8.8fL, >8.8 – ≤9.9, >9.9-≤10.8, >10.8fL) according their values, age, gender, comorbidities, initiation parameters standardized by statistical methods. It compared whether there a significant difference between terms admission National Institutes Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores discharge NIHSS also complications. Results: A total patients, 145 women age 76.7±13.0, 169 men 66.3±13.1, study. 31 (9.9%) died discharge. 9.64±1.15fL score 9.1±4.9 at admission, 4.3±4.7 When groups, it found that better Group 3 >9.9-≤10.8 Groups 4. (p=0.002; p<0.01). Despite this, seen low or high values could not be considered prognostic factor alone received treatment, since, no 3rd group 2nd decrease 4th had worse than group. There significance hemorrhage (p intracerebral, gastrointestinal, urogenital 0.540, 0.980, 0.783, respectively). Conclusion: In study, revealed value, is an independent risk receiving cannot used marker.
