Mountain Matokit and Vrgorac city: a new localities of threatened and invasive plant taxa in Croatia

ABSTRACT
This paper is first inventarisation of threatened and invasive vascular plants on the rocky grasslands situated northern slopes mountain Matokit abandoned arable land in vicinity town Vrgorac. These sites represent a new site for Croatian flora. research was conducted year 2010 2011. We found 11 species that by Red Book (Nikolić Topić [14]) Flora Croatica Database [13]) 15 species, according to preliminary list alien (IAS) Croatia (Boršić et al. [3]). In this habitat some their distribution Croatia, life forms floral elements are described. It occur exclusively grassland habitat, except two species: critically endangered (CR) Papaver argemone (EN) Hibiscus trionum which were recorded land. All inventoried at land, Robinia pseudoacacia. Tendency uncontrolled spread showed Ailanthus altissima Ambrosia artemisiifolia. Habitats stage secondary succession (healing with forest), exist (due socio-economic changes: abandonment agriculture animal husbandry, depopulation population).
