ABSTRACT
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection is under global attention due to its rapid spread and high rate of morbidity mortality. HIV gets an access into the mucosa genital epithelium through binding Langerhans cells. While viral load CD4+ cell count are main parameters detect disease activity, new biomarkers introduced as a potential parameter for monitoring activity in infected patients. Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide (CGRP) neuropeptide that secreted by peripheral neurons at epithelia plays important role limitation transmission cells effect onto This study aimed evaluate serum level CGRP patients determine whether can serve indicator activity. The included 104 24 normal controls. Patients were divided four groups. Serum levels measured ELISA correlated groups: primary (PHI), chronic (CHI) before combinational antiretroviral therapy (cART-naïve), after one year cART-initiation, two years cART. also sera controls compared patients' significantly lower cART naïve PHI CHI comparison with (p < 0.05), Also, positively 0.01), but negatively (p>0.05). In conclusion, could be proposed
