ABSTRACT
Abstract: Aims: Microballoons are floating particulate system comprising of a hollow core, drug being loaded within the polymeric layer. The aim study was to prepare microballoons containing extract Clerodendrum colebrokianum, as bioactive agent. Methods: were prepared by solvent diffusion technique, physico-chemically characterized (Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), buoyancy determination, entrapment efficiency, etc), in vitro release and estimated for its vivo antihypertensive activity 2K1C hypertension induction method. Results: SEM confirmed be spherical with porous surfaces core. developed formulation showed varying from 70.18%-89.90%. efficiency bioactives found between 52%-69% delayed maximum 28% 8 hr study. In studies carried out rat model C. colebrookianum have good both high low dose respect standard propanolol. formulations doses further effectual treatment because nature. Conclusion: results suggested that optimized show an effective extended colebrokianum hypertension. Key words: Microballoons, Antihypertensive agent, Encapsulation, Floating delivery system,
