ABSTRACT
Objective To investigate the relationship between severity of peripheral polyneuropathy (PPN) and degree depression quality life in chronic renal failure (CRF) patients on hemodialysis (HD). Method Forty seven were recruited (22 male, 25 female, mean age 63.17±12.52) etiology, disease duration, creatinine hemoglobin recorded. Motor sensory nerve conduction studies carried out bilateral median, ulnar, tibial peroneal nerves for diagnosis according to our laboratory criteria. The Korean version Beck inventory (BDI) questionnaire translated into depression, Short Form 36 health survey (SF-36) measurement general level measured those diagnosed with uremic PPN. Results Out 52 patients, 47 score BDI was 18.49±9.18. Mean scores each Mental Component Summary (MCS) Physical (PCS) SF-36 50.84±15.42 47.41±18.68. correlation analyzed by Pearson coefficient. MCS significant (p<0.05) parameter (R=-0.635) PCS only a (R=-0.340). Conclusion Uremic is commonly observed hemodialysis. Depression CRF PPN affected psychological factors other than itself.
