ABSTRACT
The properties of halomorphic soils are controlled by the presence either soluble salts, exchangeable sodium or both, and it is important to know understand these in order reforest and/or recover soils. objective this study was characterize classify from semiarid region Northeast Brazil. Four profiles were studied, which described morphologically samples collected all soil horizons. Physical chemical analyzes carried out for classification purposes, as well geochemical speciation salts. According results, P1 P3 classified Fluvisols, P2 P4 Cambisols. It observed that studied have predominance fine particles, prevents leaching subsequent removal salts profile. Soils presented high levels sodium, characterizing them solids throughout Ionic analysis indicated free forms Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+ K+, HCO3-, Cl- SO42- combinations calcium, magnesium chloride sulfate Thus, possible conclude degradation types strongly related Fluvisols
