ABSTRACT
Serum levels of cholesterol absorption and synthesis markers have been associated with cardiovascular risk in the United States European countries. In this study, we examined relevance these biomarkers presence disease (CVD) Japanese individuals. The CACHE consortium, comprising 13 research groups Japan possessing data on campesterol, an marker, lathosterol, a marker measured by gas chromatography, compiled clinical using REDCap system.Among 2,944 individuals population, those missing campesterol or lathosterol were excluded. This cross-sectional study was able to analyze from 2,895 individuals, including 339 coronary artery (CAD) patients, 108 cerebrovascular (CeVD) 88 peripheral (PAD) patients. The median age 57 years, 43% female, low-density lipoprotein triglyceride 118 mg/dL 98 mg/dL, respectively. We assessed associations ratio (Campe/Latho ratio) odds CVD multivariable-adjusted nonlinear regression models. prevalence CVD, especially CAD, showed positive, inverse, positive Campe/Latho ratio, These remained significant even after excluding statins and/or ezetimibe. PAD determined weaker than CAD. Contrarily, no association noted between metabolism CeVD.This that both high low biomarker
